Hey guys…GUYS! Want a chance to win a brand new Guitar & sheet music?

I’ve a lovely guitar that was given to me for a birthday present a few years back, and this year I decided it’s my year of becoming more proficient! New Years Resolutions are tough to keep sometimes aren’t they?

For those of you embarking on the same journey of sore fingers and wrists; I’ve news of a competition that may incentivise you to keep going…. The chance to win a guitar!

Making Music Magazine are running a competition where you could win a brand new guitar and sheet music courtesy of Daisy Rock & Alfred Music

This Wildwood Artist Acoustic-Electric guitar could be yours! It comes in various colours but personally I LOVE the Pearl colour.

As well as this
Alfred Music will supply the lucky winner with a signed copy of the folio to Lisa Loeb’s “The Way It Really Is” as well as “Girl’s Guitar Method Complete” perfect for beginners of all ages.Music isn’t biased to gender or age, but for those of us who have smaller hands (as I do!) these guitars are perfect as they have a narrower neck making it easier to reach those pesky F chords.

All you need to do is Like Making Music Magazine on Facebook and fill in the entry form at the following link. (<—HERE!) or click the image below.

Music Magazine are also offering “Sing For Your Supper” readers a free preview of their most current magazine featuring Lisa Loeb (love her!) They have tons of helpful content to help you in your pursuit of making music at home.

The Lisa Loeb Package competition is open to all! Good Luck!

So how are your New Years Resolutions going? It’s hard to set goals and stick to them sometimes. I think part of our struggle is that we are more impatient these days. We live in a fast world and wrongly expect this to be reflected in our personal goals whether they be weight loss, finding a new hobby or starting a new specialism.

Malcolm Gladwell’s “10,000 hours rule” states that to become an expert in a given field a person needs to spend “10,000 hours” committed to their particular craft.

Of course we need to take into account that if you are genetically not predisposed to be a high jumper then 10,000 of practise will not an Olympian make!

However it does support the age-old philosophy that practise does make perfect so keep at it!
